There is nothing better than keeping your children happy so that ultimately you are too! With this in mind we have listened to suggestions and for 2008 will be creating a Kids Zone. Your children will love this additional area of the show, featuring a fun fair, bouncy castles, face painting, garden workshops and entertainers. There will be something to keep every child entertained keeping them happy and amused for hours.

Please note that all children will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times during the weekend.

Fi Bird - Interactive Children's Workshops
FiBird
Fi is a graduate of St Andrew's university, mother of six and a past Masterchef finalist who has always had a passion for cooking. A member of the Guild of Food Writers, Fi has written extensively - articles, recipes and as a campaigner both for healthier diets and for cookery teaching at Primary schools. Fi and Dr Stephen Bird are the founders of Stirrin' Stuff which works in partnerships, to educate children about food and encourage children in the practical skills of preparing.

Barefoot Books will publish Fi's children's cookery book in September 2008.

Fi will be running two demonstrations each day in the Kitchen Zone:
Friday at 12pm and 4pm
Saturday at 11am

The Potting Shed
The Potting Shed is a Contemporary Ceramic Café (or Paint-Your-Own-Pottery and coffee shop!) situated near Heswall on the Wirral.

In the two years since opening The Potting Shed has provided creative activities for many groups – child and adult birthday parties, local primary schools, LJMU, residential care homes, guide and scout groups of all ages, special needs groups, corporate training and team-building and so on. And now the Home and Garden Show!

The studio is light, bright and modern with a huge range of pottery to choose from. With really friendly, helpful staff you don’t need to be artistic to achieve something you’ll be really proud of. When the pottery has been painted it is left to be professionally glazed and kiln-fired. You’ll be amazed at the results.

The beauty of painting pottery is that it can be enjoyed by all ages. No one is too small (think teeny babies footprints), or too old (the wonderful 99yr old great-great-grandmother who painted recently).

The existing studio concentrates on painting on pottery, but there will be a second studio added this summer for clay, enamelling and other crafts. Just in case we actually have a summer this year they’ve also added air-conditioning and an outdoor painting area!

TECHNICAL SURFACES
Technical Surfaces have been involved in synthetic surfaces for over 20 years. During this time we have been asked more and more if there is an artificial grass for the garden. Well now there is!

Developed over the last 3 years Sowgreen®  is designed to mimic natural grass in every way. It is soft to the touch so will not graze skin so is ideal for children and pets.

If you have problems with your natural grass through mud, bare patches or weeds or simply get frustrated having to mow your lawn every week Sowgreen® is the answer.

We offer free no obligation site surveys across the UK. Call our national office on 0845 621 7000.
